The double-axis rubbing regeneration machine is a core equipment for dry-firing old sand regeneration in casting. It relies on two rotating rubbing discs moving in opposite directions, combined with boiling and blowing air, mainly using sand-sand rubbing and sand-disc rubbing, supplemented by impact. It belongs to a soft regeneration device and is mostly used for the regeneration of resin sand, alkali phenolic sand, coated sand, and sodium silicate old sand. It can also be used in a clay sand composite regeneration production line.

Functions of the double-axis rubbing regeneration machine

1. Sand surface membrane removal regeneration: When old sand enters the regeneration chamber, the double-axis rubbing discs rotate in opposite directions at high speed. The sand particles boil and suspend, rubbing against each other, removing the solidified resin film, inert clay film, and water glass residue film on the surface of the sand particles, removing the dead layer of the binder, restoring the performance of the sand particles, with a one-time membrane removal rate of up to 18% - 25%. Multiple levels of series connection can further improve the membrane removal effect.

2. Air separation and dust removal to remove fine powder: The equipment is equipped with negative pressure suction, and the adhering binder dust, fine powder, and ash are removed, reducing the loss of recycled sand and the content of clay, improving the quality of recycled sand.

3. Sand particle shaping and improving particle shape: Sand particles rub against each other, rounding the sharp corners of the sand particles, improving the particle shape, increasing the strength of the recycled sand, reducing the gas emission volume, and reducing the amount of subsequent resin and curing agent addition.

4. Old sand cooling: The chamber is heated by blowing air, and the hot recycled sand is cooled synchronously during the regeneration process, reducing the load on subsequent cooling equipment.

5. Dispersing agglomerated sand balls: The rubbing effect disperses the slightly agglomerated old sand without the need for strong crushing, completely retaining the original body of the sand particles.

Advantages of the double-axis rubbing regeneration machine

1. High membrane removal rate, low fragmentation, and small sand particle damage: The rubbing and grinding method is the main approach, not high-speed impact fragmentation. The sand particle fragmentation rate is low, generally controlled within 3 - 5%, compared with centrifugal impact regeneration, the sand particle integrity is higher, the output rate is higher, and the loss of fine sand is reduced.

2. Lower energy consumption: Compared with impact regeneration equipment, the unit sand processing energy consumption is lower, with significant energy-saving effects, suitable for continuous large-scale production.

3. One machine with multiple functions: The same equipment can simultaneously perform membrane removal, dust removal, particle shape shaping, and cooling, simplifying the regeneration process flow, reducing the number of supporting equipment and the floor area of the workshop.

4. Process adjustment, strong adaptability: The main shaft rotation speed, feed volume, and blowing air volume can be adjusted to control the rubbing intensity; it can be used as a single machine or connected in multiple levels, suitable for various sand types such as furan resin sand, alkali phenolic sand, coated sand, and sodium silicate sand.

5. Closed operation, good environmental protection: The entire machine is sealed, all dust is removed by the dust removal system, with less dust spillage, good workshop conditions.

6. Stable operation, easy maintenance: The structure is simple, the wear parts are the rubbing discs, which can be replaced separately without disassembling the entire set; the bearings have multiple dust-proof seals, adaptable to high-temperature hot sand conditions, with low failure rate, suitable for 24-hour continuous automated production lines.

7. Good recycled sand quality, reducing production costs: The recycled sand has a round shape, low gas emission volume, and the amount of binder added during mixing is reduced, significantly reducing the purchase of new sand and lowering the overall production cost of casting.

Limitations of the double-axis rubbing regeneration machine

1. Limited for treating severely sintered and large hard sand balls; a pre-treatment with crushing and screening must be configured in the front.

2. It is difficult to completely meet the standards for water glass alone by single-machine dry rubbing; generally, multiple levels of regeneration or combined with wet regeneration are required.

3. The membrane removal rate is affected by the retention time; a multi-level series connection is required for high membrane removal rates.
