Sand dropping and cooling drum

The sand dropping and cooling drum is a specialized equipment for the clay sand casting production line. It integrates functions such as sand dropping, casting piece cooling, old sand crushing, old sand cooling, preliminary screening, and dust removal. It is mainly used for the processing of molds without boxes or after box insertion.
The functions of the sand dropping and cooling drum
Mold sand separation: The drum rotates at a low speed, lifting the mold and throwing it down. Through collision, rolling friction, the mold is broken, allowing the casting piece to be separated from the sand; the end sieve holes discharge the old sand, the casting piece is discharged from the discharge end, achieving sand and casting piece separation.
Casting piece cooling: The hot casting piece (600-900℃) rolls in the drum, combined with forced ventilation and evaporation cooling, the casting piece is cooled to below 200℃, facilitating subsequent transportation and cleaning processes, avoiding heat burns to equipment and personnel.

Old sand crushing and cooling: The old sand with clumps is crushed, through evaporation + convective heat exchange to lower the sand temperature, the cooled old sand can be directly sent to the sand treatment system for recycling.
Preliminary screening and impurity removal: The sieve holes in the drum separate the sand from the casting piece, and at the same time separate some sand lumps and impurities, removing some dust and fine powder.
Sealed dust removal: The entire machine is sealed, equipped with ventilation and dust removal, the dust and hot smoke generated by sand dropping are uniformly extracted, improving the working conditions in the workshop.
Advantages of the sand dropping and cooling drum
The multi-process function of one machine in the production line simplifies the production line: One device simultaneously completes sand dropping, cooling, crushing, and screening, eliminating the need for separate sand dropping machines and separate cold sand equipment, shortening the production process, reducing the number of equipment and floor space configuration.
Sealed operation, good environmental protection: The fully enclosed drum has less dust leakage; compared with vibrating sand dropping machines, the operating noise is significantly lower, and the workshop working environment is better.
Balanced cooling effect: The casting piece and old sand roll continuously in the sand dropping and cooling drum, with sufficient heat exchange, uniform cooling, avoiding local overheating; the hot sand is cooled and directly recycled, reducing the risk of hot sand accumulation.
Stable operation, low failure rate: The drum rotates at a low speed, without violent vibration impact, simple foundation, small wear on transmission components, less maintenance workload, suitable for continuous automated production lines.
Buffering protection for the casting piece: The casting piece is buried in the sand layer and rolls, the sand acts as a buffer pad, compared with vibrating sand dropping machines, the collision damage to large casting pieces is smaller, the surface of the casting piece is cleaned more thoroughly.
Compatible with automated assembly lines: Can be connected to the box insertion machine, mold conveyor, sand conveying system, achieving continuous automated production, matching the production rhythm of the high-pressure molding line, suitable for mass production of small and medium-sized castings.
