Technical Parameters

The bowl-shaped sand mixer is an intermittent resin sand mixing machine. The sand mixing process occurs within a spherical container, where high-speed rotating mixing blades generate vortex motion in the sand. Fixed reflective plates located on the upper hemisphere reflect the sand back into the container, repeating this cycle to ensure thorough mixing of the sand with curing agents and resin adhesives.
The bowl-shaped sand mixer is a small-scale sand mixing equipment primarily used for core sand preparation in foundry workshops producing small and medium-sized castings.

Function and Features of the Bowl-shaped Sand Mixer

1. High-speed operation with short stirring time.
2. High efficiency, reducing manual assistance time and improving overall productivity.
3. Low energy consumption, minimizing the use of resin sand and curing agents, conserving raw materials, and reducing waste during the production process.
4. Precise quantification of all materials.
5. A unique scraper mechanism combined with an optimized bowl and blade structure ensures even mixing of molding sand inside the bowl, achieving excellent fluidity without "dead corners." After unloading, the molding sand adheres minimally to structural components, providing superior self-cleaning performance.
6. This machine offers high-quality sand mixing, a short mixing cycle (30-50 seconds per batch), high efficiency, a simple and reliable transmission structure, easy maintenance, and convenient replacement of wear-prone parts.

Working Principle and Machine Structure of the Bowl-shaped Sand Mixer

During operation, the motor starts, initiating the rotation of the stirring blades. Various materials are sequentially fed through the upper feeding port. As the blades rotate, the materials are stirred and spiral upward along the inner wall of the machine basin under the influence of centrifugal inertial force, the binding force on the inner wall, and the thrust of the stirring blades. When the materials are thrown off the blades, they are blocked by vertical reflective blades and reflected downward by the inner wall of the upper machine basin. The sand flow undergoes multi-layer dispersion, directional changes, cross-layer collisions, friction, and shearing during its descent, further mixing the material components. Upon reaching the lower part of the machine basin, the materials are again stirred and lifted by the stirring blades. This three-dimensional cyclic movement continues within the machine basin, achieving uniform mixing and film coating.
The bowl-shaped sand mixer utilizes external forces to create a spiral flow of materials within the hemispherical body. The spherical structure facilitates easy and even mixing of the materials. Vigorous stirring within the spherical machine basin ensures smooth material flow without dead corners, accelerating circulation. Under the action of the blades, the material's inertia causes it to flow upward toward the spherical surface, then roll and fall due to gravity, subsequently being thrown upward again by another blade. This results in a three-dimensional cross-circulation movement of the materials within the machine basin.
The bowl-shaped sand mixer features a specially designed sand mixing structure with excellent "self-cleaning" properties. The inner wall of the machine basin and the scraper minimize material adhesion. The main shaft rotates at a medium speed (130-260 r/min), exerting strong forces on the materials, including throwing, interweaving, shearing, rubbing, and tumbling. Consequently, the sand mixing speed is fast, and the mixing effect is optimal. It is recommended that the sand mixing time be set to 30-50 seconds. To facilitate cleaning of adhered materials inside the bowl and plates, the unloading design incorporates an open structure, enabling easy access for cleaning after each shift.
