Resin sand processing equipment
Resin sand processing equipment is mainly divided into two systems: old sand regeneration and recycling, and new sand mixing. The core is to break, remove the film, and remove impurities from the castings after pouring, and then re-melt them into usable molding sand. The complete equipment is usually configured according to the process flow of "sanding → crushing → magnetic separation → regeneration (removal of film) → screening → cooling → mixing → dust removal".
1. Old sand recycling and regeneration equipment (core)
1. Sand dropping equipment (vibratory sand dropping machine)
Function: After casting and cooling, separate the sand mold from the casting, and shake off the old sand blocks.
Characteristics: Through vibration motor excitation, it has high efficiency and is the starting point of the processing line.
2. Crushing equipment (vibratory crusher)
Function: Break large pieces of old sand into small sand particles to prepare for the subsequent regeneration.
Characteristics: Adopting suspended vibration structure, relying on the collision and friction between sand particles to break them without excessive crushing of sand particles.
3. Magnetic separation equipment (magnetic belt conveyor / drum magnetic separator)
Function: Remove metal impurities such as iron beans, cold irons, and flying edges mixed in the old sand to prevent damage to subsequent equipment.
Characteristics: Usually installed on the conveying belt, it is a continuous automatic iron removal device.
4. Regeneration equipment (core descaling equipment)
Main function is to grind off the residual resin inert film on the surface of the sand particles, restoring their performance.
Centrifugal regeneration machine (S52 series)
Principle: The sand particles are thrown towards the inner wall on the high-speed rotating disc through intense friction and impact to remove the film.
Characteristics: High descaling rate (20%-30%), good roundness of sand particles, and the most widely used.
Principle: Utilizing dual-frequency vibration to make the sand particles repeatedly collide and rub in the cavity.
Characteristics: Simple structure, low wear, suitable for brittle films or low-damage sand particles.
5. Screening and air separation equipment
Vibrating screen: Screen out large particles and impurities remaining after crushing to ensure uniform sand particle size.
Air separation (screen aircraft): Use air flow to remove fine powder, dust, and detached resin films from the sand particles, reducing the loss rate.
6. Sand cooling equipment (boiling cooling bed / sand cooler)
Function: The regenerated sand has a high temperature (about 100-150℃), and needs to be cooled to room temperature (<35℃) to prevent resin from prematurely curing.
Characteristics: Injecting cold air to make the sand fluidized, achieving efficient cooling and dehumidification.
7. Transportation and lifting equipment
Bucket elevator: Vertical transportation of sand materials, connecting various process equipment.
Vibrating conveyor / belt conveyor: Horizontal or inclined transportation, with screening and cooling functions.
2. New sand / regenerated sand mixing equipment
1. Mixing machine (core equipment)
Mix the original sand / regenerated sand, resin, and curing agent in a proportion to be evenly mixed.
Double-arm continuous mixing machine (S25 series)
Characteristics: Two mixing arms, fast and uniform mixing, high precision of resin addition (±0.1%), suitable for continuous large-scale production.
Single-arm / bowl-shaped mixing machine: Simple structure, suitable for small batch, intermittent production.

2. Sand storage (sand bin / sand storage bin)
Function: Store new sand, regenerated sand, and old sand, stabilizing the supply of the production line.
Configuration: Usually equipped with level sensors, unloading devices to prevent blockage.
3. Resin / curing agent supply system
Function: Precisely measure and convey liquid resin and curing agent.
Composition: Resin bucket, curing agent bucket, precision metering pump, pipelines.
3. Environmental protection auxiliary equipment
Bag dust collector
Function: Collect dust generated in each process such as sand dropping, crushing, screening, and regeneration to ensure the environmental protection of the workshop meets standards.
Characteristics: Pulse reverse blowing cleaning, high efficiency, a necessary environmental protection equipment for resin sand lines.
4. Automation control system
PLC control cabinet: The brain of the entire production line, realizing automatic sand feeding, proportioning, mixing, fault alarm and monitoring.
Equipment process summary (one sentence) The old sand undergoes desanding → crushing → magnetic separation → centrifugal / vibration regeneration → air separation → screening → cooling. Then it is sent to the mixing machine, mixed with resin and curing agent, and processed to form new resin sand.
