I. Overall Working Principle of Dust-Free Sand Blasting Tank
The dust-free sand blasting tank is different from the traditional open pressure sand blasting tank. It adopts a closed pressure sand supply + synchronous negative pressure sand suction and dust dual-channel synchronous linkage structure. It is divided into four systems: pressure supply unit, sealed sand blasting gun, negative pressure recovery duct, and sand and dust separation and purification. The entire process realizes sand material circulation and prevents dust from spilling out of the workshop.
Pressure sand supply stage
The tank body of the sand blasting tank is a pressure-bearing and sealed structure. The compressed air from the air compressor is introduced into the tank body, forming a stable pressure. The grinding materials (steel sand, white corundum, glass beads) under the pressure are squeezed and mixed with the high-pressure air through the bottom sand regulating valve, forming a high-speed sand-air flow and transporting it to the sand blasting gun. The high-speed grinding materials impact the workpiece to complete rust removal, deburring, and matte beautification.
Synchronous negative pressure dust collection stage (core of dust-free)
The self-suction sand blasting machine is equipped with an independent negative pressure fan. A ring-shaped suction hood is set around the nozzle of the sand blasting gun to form a surrounding negative pressure area. The dust, crushed fine sand, and oxide scale debris generated during the sand blasting operation will be removed by the negative pressure airflow in real time, and will not spread to the workshop air; the entire tank, sand blasting gun, and workpiece processing area are in a micro-negative pressure state, preventing dust from spilling out.
Sand and dust separation and circulation stage
The mixed sand and dust substances removed are sent to the cyclone separator, relying on the material's specific gravity for layering: complete and qualified grinding materials self-precipitate and return to the sand blasting tank for repeated use; lightweight dust, crushed sand, and rust will enter the filter cartridge dust collector with the airflow, and clean air is directly discharged to the workshop, while the waste residue dust is collected in the dust accumulation drawer.
Closed-loop automatic control logic
The pressure regulating valve, sand regulating valve, and negative pressure fan achieve联动 control. The negative pressure starts simultaneously when the sand blasting gun is turned on, and the fan stops after the sand blasting gun is turned off. The residual dust is removed; the tank is equipped with a material level monitoring device, which automatically alerts when the sand is insufficient, and the entire process is fully automated and closed-loop, without the need for manual cleaning of dust and scattered grinding materials.
II. Core Features of Dust-Free Sand Blasting Tank
(1) Environmentally friendly and dust-free, meeting environmental assessment standards
The gun head of the self-suction sand blasting machine is fully wrapped with an all-circular suction hood. There is no dust spill at the operation point, and there is no white fog or floating dust in the workshop, significantly reducing PM dust concentration, avoiding occupational diseases and environmental inspection penalties;
The entire process is closed-loop and circular, without ground scattered grinding materials. Compared with the old open sand blasting, the cleanliness of the workshop has significantly improved, and there is no need for daily manual sand removal and sweeping;
The dust is collected and filtered centrally, and the filter cartridge has a self-cleaning design. The dust removal is simple, and there is no secondary dusting.
(2) High utilization rate of grinding materials, low cost of consumables
The complete steel sand, glass beads, and stainless steel balls are simultaneously recovered in real time. The crushed fine debris is automatically separated and removed. The qualified grinding materials return to the tank for continuous reuse, reducing grinding material loss by more than 40%;
The built-in multi-level wind separation structure ensures that the crushed sand and impurities do not mix into the circulating grinding materials, avoiding the appearance of spots and scratches on the workpiece surface, and stabilizing the sand blasting processing quality;
The sand regulating valve precisely controls the sand quantity, and can switch the sand material flow for aluminum parts, stainless steel, and castings, reducing ineffective sand blasting and waste of grinding materials.
(3) Strong adaptability for processing workpieces, protecting precision workpieces
The negative pressure wrapping sand blasting ensures that the grinding materials do not fly around. Thin-walled aluminum parts, 3C shells, and stainless steel thin plates will not be scratched by flying sand due to the impact. It perfectly matches the net belt shot blasting for the pre-treatment of precision small parts;
The air pressure, sand quantity, and negative pressure suction force can be independently adjusted. It can both remove the oxide scale of castings and use glass beads for gentle matte treatment of medical devices and bathroom hardware. The machine has multiple processes;
The small handheld gun body is flexible, and it can precisely sand the corners, weld seams, and irregular small parts, which is more flexible than the fixed sand blasting chamber.
(4) Compact structure of self-suction sand blasting machine, low installation and renovation threshold
The integrated unit of the tank body for sorting, dust removal, and recovery includes no need for deep excavation of the pit, laying of the pit spiral conveyor equipment, and the tank can be placed on the flat ground of the workshop, with minimal renovation cost for the old production line. The pipeline is lightweight, and the negative pressure duct can be freely bent. It can be flexibly arranged in combination with assembly line stations or independent single-machine stations, occupying much less space than large enclosed sandblasting rooms.
The mobile tank is equipped with casters, allowing for flexible switching of processing stations and suitable for multi-variety and small-batch production workshops.
(5) The self-suction sandblasting machine has outstanding safety performance, reducing on-site hazards.
The tank is equipped with a pressure safety valve and an overpressure relief device. In case of overpressure, it automatically releases pressure to prevent tank explosion.
The negative pressure continuously adsorbs dust, reducing the concentration of metal dust in the air, significantly reducing the risks of dust fire and explosion.
Operators do not need to wear heavy dust masks; only simple protection is required for operation, improving the working environment and reducing the risk of pneumoconiosis.
(6) The maintenance of the dust-free sandblasting tank is simple, with low downtime losses.
There are no belt conveyors, augers, or bucket elevators with easily worn mechanical conveying structures. Only the fan and sand adjustment valve are wear-prone components, resulting in low replacement costs.
The material replacement is convenient, and the residue of grinding materials in the tank can be emptied quickly. Switching between steel sand, glass beads, and aluminum oxide grinding materials does not cause cross-contamination.
The filter cartridge is equipped with a pulse automatic cleaning function, eliminating the need for frequent disassembly and cleaning. Daily maintenance only requires regular cleaning of the waste residue box and checking the air pressure.
(7) The dust-free sandblasting tank has strong automation expansion capabilities and is suitable for integration with assembly line equipment.
It can be used in conjunction with loading and unloading fixtures and mesh belt conveyor lines to achieve semi-automatic continuous sandblasting. After installing a level sensor and PLC control system, it can be connected to the entire surface treatment production line, forming an integrated process of "sandblasting pre-treatment + fine grinding" in conjunction with the previous mesh belt-type shot blasting machine.
